The Niagara Frontier Wildlife Habitat Council has helped students from Stevenson Elementary School in Ransomville, New York, to construct over 200 bluebird nesting boxes that have been placed throughout Niagara County.

Before constructing the boxes, a slide presentation about our state bird was given by Joe Urso, a representative of The Cornell Cooperative Extension.  The materials for building the boxes and the fees for the presentation were funded with grant money awarded by the DuPont Community Initiative Fund.  Some supplies were donated by Stevenson Hardware Store in Ransomville.  A thank you to them and a special thanks to Mr. Garbedian, carpentry shop instructor at LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, and his shop students for cutting out the materials for the nesting boxes.
